Yall it's been a minute since I posted anything on my blog. All is going well with my Sisterlocks. They've grown long enuf to cova my neck. The pony tail is elusive but, I nose its a comin. By the way, more of my ends have sealed but, I do have some that are takin their own sweet time and that's ok by me. If you look at my blog pictures over time you might think I have a color on my locks.
Not! Actually, I got the homegirl hookup in Oct/Nov 2005, 6 months b4 I got sisterlocks and I had a friend put a color in my hair but, it didn't turn out like we planned. 4paw. I've often wondered if this has had an affect on my ends and why it's taken them so long to seal. Who knows? That's been almost 2yrs ago and you can still see the color. I had a slight scare with my locks. I had my hair retightin in June b4 I went to my home state. While home in July, I used the same consultant who started my SLs. I came back and late last month went back to my consultant of one year and she ask if I went to a certified consultant. I said yes and then she ask if the person used a tool other than the Sisterlock tool to do my retighten. I told her I didn't know cuz I never saw the tool. She said my locks looked as if a different tool was used and/or the person went thru the same rotation repeatedly. She said that I/we should be careful that the person is usin an authentic tool simply by asking to view it. Yall know there's a lot of bogus activity out there so be careful. A few months back I started usin a little o' this and that on my locks and they began to look A HOT MESS!. I pumped my brakes and immediately became a minimalist with my lock products and in life too. "Less is more" is more than a phrase yall; its a phact.

Your locks look fabulous. Okay what is to much product ? I use Dew spray twice a week. Tell me more about too much. It is amazing that your consultant could tell that your consultant did not use the correct tool. Take care of those beautiful locks.

Lovely locks and a great blog. Congrats on your 18 anniversary mark. One tip I got a while ago for removing lint and build up is to oil the individual locks which have build up with warm olive oil. Put on a shower cap for 10 mins then wash throroughly in the hottest water your hair can stand.Make sure to squeeze ends of hair as you rinse and be gentle. Now this can be only used on mature locks. But works like a dream. God bless. Amba
